It’s fun in the sun to the sound of music in the air as the 2011 Summer Bands in Leeds series is once again underway. Music lovers are in for free treats at a bandstand near you, whether that is in a park, on an estate or a recreation ground. Yes, 20 parks, in all, are hosting more than 90 concerts that feature musical talent from all over the region. Music aficionados can indulge their passion for brass bands, blues, ragtime, Caribbean steel, swing, jazz and junior ensembles. The experience of live music is rejuvenating and quite memorable. It's the best time of the year to be outdoors and enjoying friendship in the park for free. There are still many events scheduled to perform.
